Portsmouth, also known as Pompey or The Blues, have had some success in the English top-flight, winning the League title twice, last winning the League in 1950. Pompey have had some success under former manager Harry Redknapp, who guided Pompey to their second FA Cup win, beating Cardiff City at Wembley to lift the trophy and he will be hoping to improve on Portsmouth's 8th place finish in the 2007/08 season. Redknapp left Pompey in October 2008 to become Spurs manager, with Portsmouth's assistant manager Tony Adams named as Redknapp's successor on the 28th October 2008. However, Tony Adams' reign as Pompey boss was short lived and he was sacked on the 9th February 2009. Paul Hart is currently the caretaker manager.
