Zaki Reveals Threat Of Violence By Zamelek Chief, Transfer To Wigan Collapses

Wigan Athletic Premiership Transfer News

Wigan Athletic have missed out on long-time transfer target Amr Zaki as his current club vehemently opposed the transfer with Zamelek chief Mamdouh Abba threatening violence.

The Latics were confident of wrapping up the signing of the 25-year-old Egypt international striker this summer in a £1.5million deal from the Egyptian club. However, the player revealed the forceful tactics employed by Abba to thwart the transfer.

"He told me I could not leave and he got angry and swore," disclosed Zaki. "Things got worse when his bodyguards were about to beat me up."

Zaki's agent, Nader Shawki, added: "I have never witnessed something like that in football.

"It's a shame to see such acts coming from the head of a big club like Zamalek."

I am an Egyptian and one of zamalek fans. We were very pleased with the news of possible transfer of zaki to Wegan ateletic however this has very muchly changed after the player's attitude and strange behaviour. The Zamalek Cief Mamdouh Abbas is a very respectful man and he told the player that he agrees on his transfer to wegan but the player has to wait a while till the club finishes his agreement with the candidate good repacement "Junior Agogo", the Ghanian player, which was completed yesteray by the way, however zaki didnot respond and refused to join the team in the preparation for the new season and addressed a complaint in the national football union for breaking his contract on the basis that he didn't receive his part of his payment (which was deducted due his escape from joining the team in an important game) but the union replied that he has no right to do so. The player's agent, Nader Shawki, then invented such drama when he took the player to Zamalek's Chief's office, Mamdouh Abbas, and startd teasing the man claiming that Zaki is the reason beyound Zamalek's winning the egyptian cup and that he will go for transfer to Wegan even Abbas refused and then Abbas lost his temper and expelled him from his office (but never threated himwith violence) and then the player went to the media and claimed all this. So i say hame on you Zaki and on your agent not on Zamalek or his chief who made your name as a star after your unsuccessful experience in Russia and your quick return after 1-2 months.
I am sorry for such very long reply but i want all those who are interested in this player to know the truth.
