Wigan’s Whelan Wants Man United To Beat Chelsea To Premiership Title
While Wigan are taking on Manchester United in the title decider today, the Latics chairman Dave Whelan has expressed his feelings claiming that he wants the Red Devils to win the Premier League over Chelsea.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s side need a victory at the JJB Stadium today, and recently Whelan had emphatically stated that Steve Bruce’s side will give the match their best shot while dismissing the suggestion that they will roll over.
The Blues, meanwhile, host Bolton Wanderers and need to better United’s result to win the title.
"I'm not a Manchester United fan but I want them to beat the southerners any time," said Whelan in the Sunday Telegraph.
He added: "I might be unkind but I can't see Bolton getting anything at Chelsea because they've nothing to lose there.
"But we'll have the champagne for United, no question."
