With Reading fighting a relegation battle, West Ham United-target Nicky Shorey has reportedly stalled over a new contract at the Madejski Stadium.

The 26-year-old left-back had attracted attention of several Premiership sides with his consistent performances last season as the Royals impressed in their first season in the top-flight finishing eighth and he made his way in the England side.

However, Steve Coppell’s side have failed to show the same form in the current campaign and are in the 18th place. And according to the Daily Mail, Shorey, who has been with the Royals since 2001, looks likely to leave the club in the summer, but he wants to wait and see if the Royals avoid the drop before deciding his future but the Hammers have been linked with him in the past.
