West Ham To Swoop For Shakhtar's Lastuvka
Former Czech Republic Under-21 International goalkeeper Jan Lastuvka has revealed that West Ham United are interested in bringing him to Upton park.
26-year-old Lastuvka is currently at FC Shakhtar Donetsk, but has had a brief spell on loan in the Premier League with Fulham in 2006-2007, making 8 appearances for the Cottagers.
Hammers boss Alan Curbishley is eager to bring an experienced keeper to his squad to provide competition for Robert Green, and will be buoyed by the fact that Lastuvka is keen on a return to the Premiership.
Lastuvka has also revealed that there is an offer from the Irons for him, also adding that negotiations have become complicated.
Lastuvka said: “The offer from West Ham is there. The club wants me and going back to the English league is definitely interesting.
“Unfortunately, the negotiations have become very complicated on certain matters.
“I will not comment on any figures, but in general we were almost agreed with West Ham when the transfer fee increased all of a sudden.
“Since Monday the discussions have appeared to me very strange and under those conditions I don't rush into anything.
“We have not ended the talks, they still go on, but we cannot delay it much longer.”
