West Ham United have mixed news on fitness front on Freddie Ljungberg, Freddie Sears and long-term absentee Kieron Dyer.

Former Arsenal winger, Ljungberg has apparently stepped up his comeback bid from a hamstring injury and is likely to return to training this week. However, the Sweden captain might have to wait until weekend’s trip to Bolton to return to action.

On the other hand, young striker Sears is set to return in Tuesday’s home game against Portsmouth having missed the defeat at Sunderland with a groin injury.

Meanwhile, midfielder Dyer, who is recovering from double leg fracture, is being troubled by a shin problem.

"Dyer is suffering. He's actually running and doing ok but the problem is that where they've inserted the pin for the fracture, that's causing some irritation," revealed boss Alan Curbishley.

"It's not the actual fracture. He's overcome that bit."
