West Ham Monitor Bellamy Ahead Of Liverpool Clash
West Ham United forward Craig Bellamy is being monitored on whether he can make his comeback from injury problems, in Wednesday’s Premiership clash against his old club, Liverpool.
The Wales ace has had a troubled season with the Londoners since he moved in the summer from Anfield, with an abdominal injury seeing him out for last three months. However, the 28-year-old has trained well and shown signs of recovering in time to play a part in the Upton Park clash.
Hammers assistant boss Mervyn Day said: "Players always target the earliest game possible, so we have got to look at it properly and see whether Craig is actually fit enough to play any part against Liverpool.
"Certainly he is training well, but Craig has only literally played 87 minutes in a reserve match since the injury first struck, so realistically it is going to be a big ask for him to be involved.”
