West Ham To Make Improved Offer For Mattock? - Aston Villa Linked To Ferdinand
West Ham United have reportedly reignited their interest in League 1 side Leicester City’s teenager Joe Mattock.
Hammers manager Alan Curbishley had been linked with a move for the England Under-21 International defender in January, but were rebuffed by The Foxes, who decided to keep Mattock at the Walkers Stadium, despite the Hammers willing to pay £1.25million for the talented teenager.
18-year-old Mattock has been with the Midlands team since the age of 14 and has made 35 appearances for the first team since making his debut in 2007 and has 4 caps for the England Under-21 side.
Now it seems that the Irons will test the resolve of Leicester with an offer of £2million for Mattock, with the Foxes likely to cash in and let their young starlet leave for Upton Park.
Hammers boss Curbishley is keen to add Mattock to his squad as he reshapes it for next season, with Aston Villa linked to Anton Ferdinand, who is still available for £6million following his snub of Newcastle United.
