West Ham In Loan Talks With Man City-Target Inter Striker Adriano As Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger Refuses To Take Brazilian On Loan

Inter Milan striker Adriano is sought by West Ham United, but the Londoners’ aim is to take the Brazilian on loan.

However, Adriano’s agent has said that the 25-year-old international wants to stay at the San Siro or move out permanently.

Gilmar Rinaldo said: “Adriano wants to remain at Inter or be transferred definitively. What happens next is up to the club. But while we know that with less than a week to go before the end of the window it will be very difficult to find a team we are calm."

Manchester City have also been linked with Adriano, who has reportedly had a ‘spectacular disciplinary fall-out’ with Inter coach Roberto Mancini and subsequently fallen behind in the pecking order.

Meanwhile Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he refused to take Adriano on loan while Inter asked for a loanee in return.

"I was offered Adriano on loan and I said no," he said. "We do not need him and it was an easy decision to make because we're not out there to sign another striker.

"The agreement was for a loan. Adriano has qualities we don't need. They wanted to give us a player but wanted one back in return. I won't say who it was. I didn't want to lose the player they requested. I didn't necessarily think Adriano would upset the balance of the squad.

"I have bought Eduardo Da Silva. I already had Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin van Persie and I brought Nicklas Bendtner back. I still have Theo Walcott and Abou Diaby can play through the middle. Why should I bring more forwards in? I have big faith in my squad and they've proved me right so far this season."
