West Brom Sign Carson From Liverpool
Newly-promoted Premiership outfit West Bromwich Albion have signed Scott Carson from Liverpool, confirmed the England goalkeeper’s agent.
The 22-year-old, who had spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, has penned a four-year contract with the Baggies.
Colin Gordon told skysports.com: "The deal has been done. Scott has signed a four-year deal with West Brom. They will pay £3.25million which will rise to £4million for Scott."
Stoke, Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough were also linked with Carson, before the Baggies got their man.
However, Stoke pulled out of the race last night, while Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has ignored the speculation as he is happy with Brad Jones and Ross Turnbull despite the departure of experienced Mark Schwarzer. Rovers, meanwhile, are fighting to keep Brad Friedel at Ewood Park.
