Villa Join Portsmouth & Man City In Race For Chelsea's Wright-Phillips
Aston Villa are the latest Premier League club to be linked with a move for Chelsea’s England International Shaun Wright-Phillips, with Portsmouth and his former side Manchester City also showing interest in the Blues winger.
26-year-old Wright-Phillips has been at Stamford Bridge since 2005, but has failed to nail down a first-team place during his time with Chelsea and has been urged by his step-father Arsenal legend Ian Wright to seek a move elsewhere.
Pompey boss Harry Redknapp is keen to bring Wright-Phillips to Fratton Park, but it is believed that he would have to sell from the current Portsmouth squad to finance any move for the England man, having just sealed the signing of Peter Crouch from Liverpool.
Villa are in a similar position to Pompey, but with it looking ever more likely that long-serving captain Gareth Barry will finally get his dream move to Liverpool, could have the funds available to bring Wright-Phillips to Villa Park.
Manchester City however, appear the most interesting suitors, with Wright-Phillips being idolised at the Eastlands Stadium before his £21million transfer to the then Premier League Champions in 2005.

I don't know where you get
I don't know where you get your information from, but Villa have no need to sell players. We have considerable funds to spend with or without Barry leaving. Something Harry Redknap practically admitted when he said villa were in for Kaboul so he will probably go there.
