According to a report in The Daily Mail, Valencia will make a £10 million offer for Arsenal midfielder Gilberto in the January transfer window but they will have to tackle “big interest” from Serie A champions Inter Milan.

Towards the end of the summer market, the 30-year-old Brazilian was also linked with a move to Italy giants Juventus with his national coach Dunga saying: “I think he is ready for an experience in Italian football and for Juventus.”

The Daily Mail quoted a source close to the player, saying: "There were bids from Valencia and Inter during the summer of around £10 million and Valencia have made it clear they will be back in the January transfer window.”

Gilberto, who had joined the north London club in 2002, meanwhile is reportedly keen to stay at the Emirates Stadium. He is quoted as saying: “It would be extremely honourable to finish my career as a Gunner.”
