West Ham's Upson & Ferdinand Could Return Against Aston Villa
Central defenders Matthew Upson and Anton Ferdinand could feature for West Ham United against Aston Villa on the final day of the season.
With calf and hamstring injuries respectively keeping out Upson and Ferdinand, Hammers manager Alan Curbishley paired skipper Lucas Neill and James Tomkins in central defence against Manchester United last Saturday.
However, West Ham assistant boss Mervyn Day is hopeful that the duo can come back for final match of the season on Sunday.
"Ferdinand was running on the pitch before the (Manchester United) game so we're hopeful that he might have a chance of being fit," Day told the club's official website.
"Matty did some running on Friday so we're hopeful but we've been hopeful of a few of them for three or four weeks."
