TRANSFER UPDATE: Robinho Closes In On Move To Manchester City - Chelsea To Miss Out On Real Madrid & Brazil Star?
Latest reports indicate that Manchester City have beaten Chelsea to the transfer of Real Madrid's Brazilian striker Robinho, with a deal reportedly in place to bring Robinho to Eastlands.
Real Madrid are reportedly more interested in selling their star player to Mark Hughes’ team despite Champions League rivals Chelsea having thought they had sealed the deal.
However Manchester City, who are suddenly well and truly back in the transfer market after the takeover today by the billionaire owners of the Abu Dhabi United Group, have launched a late bid believed to be £32.5million (€40million) for the Seleçao star.
However, with time still remaining before the summer transfer window closes, Chelsea may still make a late move to seal the transfer of Robinho, who has already stated his desire to move away from The Bernabeu this summer.
