Tottenham Hotspur manager Juande Ramos may have to look elsewhere in his search for defenders in the summer as Espanyol’s Daniel Jarque is set to stay at the Montjuic.

Spurs boss had been persistently linked with Jarque, who has however recently agreed a four-year contract extension.

"I signed a contract for four years and I do not see a way out of Espanyol,” he stressed.

Ramos is apparently keen to reshape the defence in particular and has been linked with a host of players, while Spurs central defender Michael Dawson is reportedly interesting Newcastle United.
