Tottenham Move For Barcelona’s Eto'o As Berbatov Could Be Used In Swap - Report

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made the first move towards the attempt to bring boss Juande Ramos’ No.1 target, Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o to White Hart Lane in the summer.

It is reported that the north-London club have already met Barca officials to talk about a transfer for the Cameroon international.

According to The London Evening Standard, a Tottenham official made a trip to Spain after Barca’s Champions League defeat to Manchester United last week, to open discussions.

The Catalan giants are reportedly looking for an offer in the region of £27million to part with their brilliant 27-year-old, who has been at Camp Nou since 2004, and with Spurs likely to cash in on £30m-rated Dimitar Berbatov, who has been linked with Manchester United, Real Madrid and AC Milan, a swap deal could reportedly be put in place.

Spurs are also eyeing up Sevilla left winger Diego Capel and Portsmouth midfielder Lassana Diarra, reports on Wednesday have suggested.
