Torres Delighted As Liverpool Stretch Lead Over Everton, Boss Benitez Wary Of Arsenal
Liverpool ace Fernando Torres has expressed his delight after playing a big part in derby day success at Anfield on Sunday with the Reds consolidating the fourth place.
It was the Spain international’s first taste of the local clash with Everton as he had missed the trip to Goodison Park earlier in the season, and celebrated it with the match-winner thereby taking his Premiership tally to 21 goals.
"The derby was amazing. It is always different for the fans. It is an important week and you feel this is a special game," he said.
"The victory was most important and Everton are further [behind] than before."
The Reds are now five points above the Toffees, in the fourth place. However, boss Rafa Benitez is not taking anything for granted.
"However, I do not believe that we are sure of fourth spot just yet. We are at Arsenal next Saturday and that will be tough, while Everton are at home to Derby. Things can change around very quickly."
