Teenage Arsenal Attacker Cesc Fabregas Is Player of the Month
Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has been named Player of the Month.
19-year-old Fabregas proved to be the lynchpin of the Gunners attack as they shot eight goals in three games for a 100 per cent record.
The Spain international attacker starred in Arsenal's 4-0 home success over Charlton Athletic at the start of January being a constant threat to the Addicks goal.
He followed this up with an assist in the 2-0 away win at Blackburn Rovers, setting up Thierry Henry with a clever one-two, before inspiring his team-mates to a late 2-1 victory over Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium.
Jim Hytner, from the Barclays Awards Panel said: “Fabregas is fast becoming one of the hottest properties in European football.
“He has made the central midfield berth in Arsene Wenger's side his own and fully deserves the Barclays Player of the Month Award for his outstanding performances in January.”
