Sweden Head Coach Names Five Premiership Players For EURO 2008 Squad: Villa's Mellberg, West Ham Ljungberg & City's Larsson...
Sweden head coach Lars Lagerback has announced his 23-man squad for the EURO 2008 Finals in Austria/Switzerland, with the tournament kicking-off on June 7, 2008.
There are a total of five players from the English Premier League featuring in Lagerbäck’s squad, with Manchester City goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson, Olof Mellberg from Aston Villa, Wigan Athletic defender Andreas Granqvist, West Ham United’s Freddie Ljungberg and finally Sebastian Larsson from recently relegated Birmingham City.
Former Barcelona striker Henrik Larsson has also been recalled back to the squad for the European Championships after the 36-year-old retired from international football following Sweden's elimination by Germany at the 2006 FIFA World Cup Finals.
He will be joined in attack by Marcus Allbäck from FC Copenhagen, Johan Elmander from Toulouse FC, Inter Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimović and Markus Rosenberg who plies his trade in the German Bundesliga with Werder Bremen.

Midfielders: Niclas Alexandersson (IFK Göteborg), Daniel Andersson (Malmö FF), Kim Källström (Olympique Lyonnais), Sebastian Larsson (Birmingham City FC), Fredrik Ljungberg (West Ham United FC), Tobias Linderoth (Galatasaray AS), Christian Wilhelmsson (RC Deportivo La Coruña), Anders Svensson (IF Elfsborg).
