Sunderland’s Dickson Etuhu Set To Move To Fulham

Sunderland, Fulham Premiership Transfer News

Sunderland’s Dickson Etuhu has revealed that is currently in London in order to complete his move to Fulham.

The player held talks with both the teams managers Roy Keane and Roy Hodgson, before taking the decision to make the switch from the Stadium of Light to Craven Cottage.

The 26-year old will have to undergo a medical with the Cottagers before finalising the deal.

"I heard a few clubs were interested but Sunderland didn't want to sell," said Etuhu.

"It was the hardest decision of my career. I had a chat with Roy Keane and he didn't want me to go and tried to convince me to stay.

"I also met Roy Hodgson and spoke to Roy, met Fulham and the team and decided I liked it already.

"I wanted to go to Fulham. I've been out for six months and want to move on and play and be closer to my family in London.

"I want to thank Roy Keane for giving me a chance to play in The Premier League, it's been a dream come true for me.

"I want to come home to London as I grew up here but last year was great and I loved Sunderland and the fans are the greatest I've had so far. It was a great pleasure playing for them.

"Roy Keane wanted me to stay and I'm proud to have two managers wanting me.

"The deal is going to be wrapped up some time today.

"It's been a difficult two weeks for me. Roy Keane wanted me to stay and I've got great respect for him but I'm looking forward to working with Roy Hodgson and I've heard great things about him."
