Sunderland Boss Roy Keane Adamant R.O.I Striker Murphy Is Going Nowhere
Sunderland boss Roy Keane has revealed that he has turned down a range of transfer offers for Republic of Ireland striker Daryl Murphy during the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old has scored in Sunderland's last two games and has recently earned a call-up for the Republic of Ireland squad for next Wednesday's friendly against Brazil.
But Roy Keane, speaking to The Sunderland Echo, said:"Murph's going nowhere.
"We're always looking for positives and Murph is certainly one of them. From the day I first arrived in the job here, we've had lots of inquiries for him.
"Sometimes other clubs make your decisions for you because if they're always asking then you think the player has something about them.
"Last year we were still sussing players out and he did well for us.
"He's a good lad and a good professional. He's in the next Irish squad and is getting his rewards with a run of games. He's taking his chance in the side."
