Sunderland Boss Keane To Up Bid For Shorey - Saha Link Resurfaces, But Man United Striker Prefers West Ham
Sunderland boss Roy Keane is reportedly considering an improved offer for Reading left-back Nicky Shorey, and is once again linked with a move for Manchester United striker Louis Saha.
Royals boss Steve Coppell has declared he is not giving anyone away at bargain price and has already turned down a bid for England international Shorey even as he concedes that the 27-year-old wants to move elsewhere.
Aston Villa, Portsmouth and Newcastle are also said to be interested in Shorey, and Keane, according to the Evening Chronicle, knows he must act quickly to beat the rivals.
Speculation is also rife that Keane is interested in French striker Saha with a £8.5m offer said to be ready to be launched despite the former Manchester United captain saying three weeks ago that he had no interest in the injury-prone player.
Reports also claim that the former Fulham man is keen to move to West Ham United if United decide to sell him.
