Sunderland In £10m Bid For Everton’s Johnson As Move For Tottenham’s Bent Stalls – Report
Sunderland have reportedly lodged a £10million bid for Everton striker Andy Johnson after move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Darren Bent stalled.
The Black Cats boss Roy Keane has so far faced a frustrating time in the summer transfer market as despite a reported substantial transfer kitty, he has failed in his offers with Spurs flop Bent being the latest stumbling block.
Also linked with Portsmouth’s David Nugent, Keane is now said to have matched Toffees’ reported valuation of England striker Johnson, who is reportedly a target for Fulham and Wigan after growing unsettled at Goodison Park.
The Hartlepool Mail suggests that Spurs boss Juande Ramos could keep Bent at White Hart Lane in the wake of Robbie Keane linkup with Liverpool. The former Charlton Athletic man as such, could yet have a Spurs future.
