Stoke City Manager Pulis Assured Of More Funds In January
After failing to capture potential targets in the recently closed transfer window, Stoke City chairman Peter Coates said that manager Tony Pulis will be backed with more finances in the next transfer window.
The Potters aim at building a side capable enough to survive in the Premier League and have already spent around £20million to bring new players to the Britannia Stadium this summer.
However, Stoke have missed out on essential players like Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant and Cardiff City’s Joe Ledley, which has resulted in Pulis has being promised sufficient funds in the new year.
"We will be looking in January. It will be dependent on what we need, but our next games will enable us to answer that,' Coates told The Sentinel.
"We will strengthen if we can find the right players to fit our requirements. But we have spent more than £20million and I think we have done well.
"You would always like more but one or two deals were not to be.
"I have always been confident we will compete and have a go. That's not changed, we have a good squad of players.
"In January we will see what we need and, if we can find the right players, we will strengthen the team further."
