Spurs Line Up City Boss Hughes As Ramos Heads For Lane Exit?
Tottenham Hotspur are understood to want Manchester City boss Mark Hughes to replace Juande Ramos at White Hart Lane, according to The Sun.
Ramos has been in charge less than a year at the North London side and has seen Tottenham endure their worst start to a season in 53 years this campaign, without a league win and rooted to the bottom of the Premier League.
The Sun claim that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is ready to offer former Welsh national team boss Hughes a £20million five-year deal to quit the Eastlands Stadium and move South to Spurs.
However, Hughes only took charge at the Blues this summer after leaving Blackburn Rovers and has had the backing of new billionaire owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who has already stated that he wishes to keep Hughes at the Eastlands after the transfer deadline day takeover that made City the richest club in the world.
City have not made any comment on this, but are unlikely to let Hughes leave for Spurs, with the new Arab owner’s more than able to match anything Levy might offer Hughes.
