Spurs Expected To Get In Bidding War With Shakhtar Donetsk For Cruzeiro Striker Marcelo Moreno
Tottenham Hotspur are expected to place a bid of approx. £6million to Brazilian club Cruzeiro their Bolivian striker Marcelo Moreno.
20-year-old Moreno has attracted the attention of a range of clubs around the world, but it is thought that the Bolivian international is keen on a move to Europe.
Alvimar Perrella, president of Cruzeiro claims that Spurs have already had an offer turned down, with Ukrainian club side Shakhtar Donetsk currently having offered the highest bid so far, but that has also been turned down by Cruzeiro.
"The proposal was well short of what we expected," said Perrella. "Of course, they should return to make a new offer but, until now, no [they haven't]."
It is expected that Cruzeiro may be willing to listen to offers in excess of £6million for the international striker, who has made four appearances for his country, scoring two goals in the process.
