Spurs Bid For EURO 2008 Star Pavlyuchenko Rejected By Spartak Moscow?
Russian side Spartak Moscow have received two offers for their star of EURO 2008 striker Roman Pavlyuchenko, with one of them believed to be from Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.
However Spartak general director Sergei Shavlo has stated that as the offer is from a team not playing in the Champions League, it is very likely that it will be knocked back.
"We have received two offers. One of them is from an English team," said Spartak's general director Sergei Shavlo.
"Since it's not a team playing in the European Champions League, we are more likely than not to reject their offer".
White Hart Lane boss Juande Ramos has made Russian International Pavlyuchenko one of his main transfer targets, with the futures of his first choice pairing Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov at Spurs still not clear.
Berbatov continues to be heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, while Keane favours a move to Liverpool which could see Peter Crouch come the opposite way.
Ramos saw Pavlyuchenko, who has scored 67 goals in 136 appearances for Spartak as an ideal replacement should Berbatov and Keane decide to leave the club this summer, but will now have to look for an alternative.
