Ryan Giggs Thrilled After Equaling Manchester United Legend Bobby Charlton's Playing Record
In Sunday's spectacular win which saw Manchester United to retain the Premiership crown, Welsh winger Ryan Giggs came on as a substitute to equal Red Devils legend Bobby Charlton’s record of playing 759 games for the club.
Even though Giggs is delighted to have achieved such a feat he is even more overjoyed to be able to lift his 10th Premier League title with the Red Devils.
“It feels great. I’m not as bothered about individual records, this is what it’s all about – championships,” said Giggs.
“We knew it would be a tough game, and it was. We did well in the first half and got that first goal. Then it was a case of holding on.
“It was a great goal just to settle us down. We felt a little more comfortable after that,” he added. “Winning the league feels great, and hopefully we can win another trophy in ten days’ time.”
