Reds Striker Peter Crouch Salutes Tottenham Hotspur Character But Hopes Liverpool Will Get The Better Of Spurs
Striker Peter Crouch has saluted the character of 18th placed Tottenham Hotspur, who came back from being 4-1 down to Aston Villa to draw the game, but hopes Liverpool will get the better of Spurs in Sunday’s clash at Anfield.
The Reds are also going through a lack of form as suggested by their recent results that culminated into a shock 1-0 loss to Marseille at Anfield in the Champions League group game on Wednesday.
The England international said on Reds’ official website: “It would be nice to get a result against Tottenham as we were disappointed with our result and performance against Marseille.
“To have a game so soon is probably a good thing, on the back of a bad result you want to be playing again straight away.
“Tottenham will be an extremely difficult game. They've got a fantastic squad. They've had an indifferent start to the season so they'll come out and attack us from the start.
“They need a result as much as we do but hopefully our quality will shine through and we'll get the result.
“They showed great character to come back from 4-1 down against Aston Villa. You'd be disappointed to find yourself in that position but to come back from it shows fantastic character.”
