PSG’s Diane Ignores Newcastle Talk, Agrees Qatar Move
Newcastle United-linked Amara Diane is set to leave Paris Saint Germain for Al-Rayyan in Qatar in a lucrative move.
The Ivory Coast international had been mentioned in the media as one of the summer targets for Toon boss Kevin Keegan. However, financial reasons seem to have played a part as 25-year-old forward heads for Gulf adventure.
“This club are okay to put €5 million on the table for a transfer,” Diane told Le Parisien. “It’s a very good sum. But Paris want three or four more. Is that normal?
“Most of all if I stay here, next year I could leave for only €1 million. They think I’m an idiot. So from my part I have given my word to go to Qatar.
“From now I want to ensure my family’s financial future. And only a Qatari club can permit me to do it.”
