Premiership Latest & Squad God Gameweek 22 Predictions:

Howay the lads! Our latest fixture predictions are being done in Keeganesque style, and our Squad God Premier League predictor is feeling very cavalier in his predictions. Be warned!!

Birmingham City v Chelsea

The Brum had the toughest fixtures of any relegation threatened clubs at Xmas, but conducted themselves admirably. Chelsea’s big blue machine has been grinding out wins and, ironically, thanks to Birmingham’s draw with Arsenal last week, have put themselves firmly back in the title race. Blues for the team in blue is my prediction.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Juliano Belletti

Chelsea win (0-2)

Blackburn Rovers v Middlesbrough

Now that Newcastle have turned their attention away from Rovers manager Mark Hughes, his team can get back to the job in hand. Blackburn seem to have the measure of every team in the bottom half of the table, and I don’t see them having any problems here.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Roque Santa Cruz

Blackburn win (3-1)

*********************

Fulham v Arsenal

Roy Hodgson is a manager guaranteed not to inspire an insipid team, which couldn’t win a football match if their lives depended on it. How they are going to cope with an Arsenal side, looking to get back to winning ways, is beyond me.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Emmanuel Adebayor

Arsenal win (0-4)

*********************

Portsmouth v Derby County

Portsmouth have had a rough six weeks or so, and are one of the more affected teams, personnel-wise, by the African Nations Cup. It must, therefore, be refreshing to know that Derby are rolling into town.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Niko Kranjcar

Portsmouth win (3-0)

*********************

Reading v Manchester United

Reading have had a rough ride of late, with the only silver lining being that they won’t have to see Tottenham again until May. Their more immediate problem though, is that the face a Man U side that resembles a Panzer Division.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Cristiano Ronaldo

Man U win (0-3)

*********************

Tottenham Hotspur v Sunderland AFC

Spurs have finally sorted out their defensive problems. Juande Ramos’ first English words to his team must have been, ‘score more goals than the opposition, and we’ll win this match’. Sunderland must have welcomed back the return of Kieran Richardson, who seems to have finally recovered from Spondoliosis, but may find themselves on the end of a heavy defeat.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Robbie Keane

Spurs win (4-1)

*********************

Newcastle United v Bolton Wanderers

Howay the lads! Keegan is back in town. Problem is, where he once had Tino Asprilla, and David Ginola at his disposal, he now has Mark Viduka and Belozoglu Emre. Bolton started well under Gary Megson, but have since gone off the boil. I’d love it, I’d really love it, if they got back to winning ways here.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Kevin Nolan

Bolton win (0-1)

*********************

Wigan Athletic v Everton

Wigan are beating the clubs around them in the table so should retain their Premier League status in the long-term, but I really can’t really see past an Everton win here. Wigan are way too over-matched.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Mikel Arteta

Everton win (1-2)

*********************

Manchester City v West Ham United

After a Wednesday night F.A. Cup loss, in which West Ham did everything but hit the back of the net, the Hammers head back up north for a repeat fixture in the league. Expect manager Alan Curbishley to make changes, and make amends, by bringing home three points.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick:: Dean Ashton

West Ham win (1-2)

*********************

Liverpool v Aston Villa

This is an interesting fixture because if Villa win, and other results go their way, they could find themselves in fourth place. With the axe dangling over Rafa Benitez’s head, expect him to put out his strongest side but, maybe, just maybe, Villa will be the team to make that axe fall.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: John Carew

Villa win (1-2) – Bet now
