The final week of the 2007/08 English Premier League season is still, as yet, undecided, with struggles at both ends of the Premiership table.

Manchester United and Chelsea are still both battling for the Premiership title on the last day of the season, while the two final relegation places are still undecided.

Title challengers Manchester United and Chelsea both face potentially tough final fixtures, with Manchester United travelling to The JJB to face Wigan Athletic, and Chelsea hosting Bolton Wanderers, who although still mathematically could face the drop are all but certain of remaining in the Premier League for the upcoming 2008/09 season.

At the business end of the table Fulham, who currently lie just one place above the relegation zone in 17th place on 33 points travel, to FA Cup Finalists Portsmouth for their final game of the 2007/08 season.

Fellow relegation contenders Birmingham City, currently in 19th place on 32 points, need at least a point at home against Blackburn Rovers to have any chance of remaining in the EPL, with a win still not enough to guarantee safety.

Reading, who also hover in the relegation zone, just one point ahead of Birmingham City on 33 points, travel to meet relegation doomed Derby County, who are just playing for pride, but Reading's vastly inferior goal-difference to their other relegation contenders could work against them.

The 2007/08 season has proved to be one of the most exciting seasons in many years, with both the Premiership title and the two final relegation places still to be decided.

SquadGod.com’s Patrick Hennessey is at hand to give one last set of predictions for this weekend’s crucial Premier League matches.

Birmingham City v Blackburn Rovers

The first of a few ‘must-win’ games today. Birmingham are no slouches in the goal-scoring department, but their inability to defend has been their undoing this season. At the start of this season, all eyes were on Blackburn’s Beni McCarthy to provide the goals, little did we know the impact Roque Santa Cruz was to have on the Lancashire side.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Roque Santa Cruz

Blackburn Rovers win (1-2)

Chelsea v Bolton Wanderers

Much fuss has been made of Wigan giving Man U ‘safe passage’ to the title, but Bolton are in a similar position. The Trotters are safe from the threat of relegation, and after a gruelling season, may well have one-eye on their summer hols. Bolton are not – and may never be, a match for Chelsea, but they will not conceded enough goals to ensure Chelsea the title.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Nicolas Anelka

Chelsea win (3-0)

Derby County v Reading

Derby could never be considered king-makers, but as they bow out from the Premier League, they could become Reading’s heart-breakers. The old adage ‘misery loves company’ springs to mind here.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Kenny Miller

Derby County win (1-0)

Everton v Newcastle United

King Kev is known (and loved) for ranting first, and thinking later. His recent comments about top-four domination will not have been echoed – or appreciated, by his opposite number David Moyes. The Toffees manager almost crashed the party this season, and if the mass exodus at Arsenal is to be believed, may actually do so next time round.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Joleon Lescott

Everton win (1-0)

*********************

Middlesbrough v Manchester City

Boro had a great win against Pompey last week, and will want to finish the season on a high note. City must be somewhat confused with what’s happening to them right now, and I think they’ll be ending their season on a bum note.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Chris Riggott

Boro win (2-1)

*********************

Portsmouth v Fulham

For the first time all season, Fulham are masters of their own destiny. A win against Pompey is a tall order for any club, but in light of the fact that Harry Redknapp’s men have an F.A. Cup final on May 17th, there may never be a better time for the Cottagers to visit Fratton Park.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Jimmy Bullard

Fulham win (1-2)

*********************

Sunderland v Arsenal

Roy Keane has already wielded the axe this week, releasing four of his squad – with more, sure to follow. Arsene Wenger, on the other hand, has a host of disgruntled first-teamers queuing for the exit. Moral must not be high at Arsenal, and I think Sunderland may be able to capitalise.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Nyron Nosworthy

Draw (1-1)

*******************

Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool

Can we call this one a Spanish derby? I think a siesta is probably a fairer description. Liverpool’s quality may win out, but I think we’re in for a dull game here.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Fernando Torres

Draw (1-2)

*********************

West Ham Utd v Aston Villa

The only reason why West Ham will finish the season in the top half of the table, is because 11th place Spurs are equally dire. Villa have had a great season, and although they’ll probably finish empty-handed, they should finish on a high.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: John Carew

Aston Villa win (1-2)

*********************

Wigan Athletic v Manchester United

Man Utd will win this – and the title, with or without Wigan’s assistance. They have been the best and most entertaining team all season, and thoroughly deserve to be champions.

Premiership Latest & SquadGod fantasy football pick: Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester Utd win (0-2)
