Portsmouth’s Sean Davis Snubs Celtic – Report - Strachan Claims Hoops Active In Transfer Market
Scottish giants Celtic have reportedly failed to lure Sean Davis and as such the midfielder is set to stay at Portsmouth despite Harry Redknapp admitting the need to sell to bring in his remaining transfer targets.
Pompey had, according to the Mail Online, accepted Celtic's £2.5m fee for the 28-year-old former Fulham and Tottenham man, but Davis reportedly did not want to move north of the border.
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan has, meanwhile, stressed that the club is working hard to bring in more new players before the season kicks off.
He is quoted as saying: “We are trying our best to sign players at the moment. (Chief executive) Peter Lawwell is active at the moment, working very hard.
“From the players' point of view I'm hopeful the squad can be added to before the start of the season. If it doesn't I get on with it.
“It's unfair to talk about targets. Let's just say we are active in quite a few places.”
