Portsmouth defender Sol Campbell will not need to undergo surgery this summer to resolve his Achilles problem.
The former England international missed Pompey's end of season after suffering a slight tear.
After evaluating the problem club physio Gary Sadler has confirmed Campbell is well on the mend.
"Sol doesn't need surgery," said Sadler. "The injury was feeling better towards the end of the season and he was able to do some gym work.
"He will have his own fitness programme during the summer and we will also give the Achilles plenty of rest."
