Portsmouth Chief Executive Storrie Rubbishes Interest In Liverpool's Peter Crouch
Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie has revealed his surprise on reading reports that the club had been in talks with Liverpool regarding a transfer of England striker Peter Crouch.
It was speculated that Storrie and manager Harry Redknapp had held talks with the English international on Thursday just ahead of their FA Cup final match against Cardiff City.
Storrie, while rubbishing those reports, said that he and Redknapp were relaxing and enjoying a meal in Brighton and not in Liverpool.
"That's quite amazing, apparently Harry and I were in Liverpool last night," Storrie told Sky Sports News.
"I don't know how we did that as we were out with the team at a lovely restaurant in Brighton.
"I don't know why people make up these daft and ridiculous stories up.
Whether it's just related to the fact we're in a Cup final or not I don't know.
"Our thoughts at the moment are purely on trying to win the game tomorrow.
"As far as who's going to be here or not next season we'll deal with that on Monday."
