Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O'Hara is confident that Juande Ramos’ side can have a successful 2008-09 season, after describing the bunch as a ‘cracking squad’ having won the pre-season Feyenoord Jubileum Tournament.

The 21-year-old England U-21 international, who also scored in the 3-0 success against Borussia Dortmund in the Rotterdam event, also asserted that the north-Londoners are looking forward for the start of the season.

He said on the club’s official website: "Rotterdam was a good trip. All the lads have come together over the last few weeks, pre-season's been really tough, but now we're at the business end of it and looking forward to the start of the season.

"Winning something like this tournament shows everyone that we're out to win and we've got a side that are capable of achieving things.

"Dortmund are a big side in Germany and we played really well in the second half. To beat a side like that 3-0 shows we can play on the big stage.

"We've got a cracking squad for the coming season and there are a lot of quality players who are all bonding well together.

"We've played some great football over the last couple of weeks since we returned from Spain, including out in Rotterdam, and it's been a joy just to be involved."

Spurs have seen the arrivals of Luka Modric, Giovani dos Santos, Heurelho Gomes, David Bentley along with promising youngster John Bostock, this summer.

Amongst several Spurs academy youngsters also getting the taste of pre-season with the first-team, O'Hara picked out 17-year-old Adam Smith for special mention. He was the provider of O'Hara’s goal on Sunday.

O'Hara said: "Adam's come in and done really well. He's been brilliant in training and has really impressed everyone.

"He's a good lad and all the boys have really taken to him, and he was saying to me what a great feeling it was for him and he can't imagine what it would be like to play at The Lane.

"I just told him that if he keeps working hard, he'll get his opportunity, because that's the way the gaffer thinks. Hopefully he'll become more involved soon."
