Nicklas Bendtner Gets Five-Year Contract At Arsenal Following Successful Loan Stint At Birmingham City
Reports in Denmark have claimed, teenage striker Nicklas Bendtner has been handed a five-year contract by Arsenal.
The 19-year-old had a very successful season-long loan stint at Birmingham City as he scored 17 goals in the Championship to help Steve Bruce’s side earn promotion to the Premiership.
The Denmark international returned to north London from St Andrew’s as the Gunners boss Arsene Wenger holds him in high regards and considers him the first-team material.
"Nicklas can now relax and concentrate on his play and development," Bendtner's father and agent Thomas told TV2.
"The future will be with Arsenal. They have clearly indicated that they consider Nicklas as a first team player and that he will not be loaned out again.
"There have been many clubs who have been interested, but Arsenal is the right choice."
Bendtner was the only player to come back from the Gunners trio that were loaned out to the Blues with other two Sebastian Larsson and Fabrice Muamba signing permanent deals with Bruce’s side.
