Newcastle’s Cacapa Future Speculation As Injury Likely To Keep Him Out

Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan has admitted that defender Claudio Cacapa is doubtful of featuring in the rest of the season due to a groin problem.

“We have lost Claudio Cacapa for about five weeks,” Keegan said in the Evening Chronicle.

“He pulled his groin in training on Friday and that’s why Lamine Diatta was in the squad against Fulham on Saturday.”

The 31-year-old Brazilian has also been found to be wanting more often than not during his ongoing spell since moving to St James’ Park in the summer of 2007. And as such, his future is reportedly uncertain as Keegan is being linked with a host of defenders in view of the summer transfer market.
