Newcastle United winger James Milner's injury is a cause for concern for the beleaguered Tynesiders, but manager Kevin Keegan is hopeful that it’s nothing serious.

The 22-year-old England under-21 ace is one of the Toon’s few players who have performed well this season. And he picked up a foot injury in the first half of 3-0 loss at Liverpool on Saturday when he kicked the foot of Brazilian midfielder Lucas.

"He's kicked the lad's foot in the first-half," said Keegan.

"But James is a young lad and we think it's just bruising but we'll have to wait and see."

The Toon are only three points above the relegation zone and are in search of inspiration to keep themselves away from getting sucked into the drop zone as Keegan still searches for his first win in eight games.
