Newcastle Boss Keegan Hails Everton’s Moyes

Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan has hailed the work put in by David Moyes to transform Everton and set a target of taking the Toon to fifth-place finish next season.

The Toon travel to Goodison Park on the final day of the season when Moyes’ side needs to avoid defeat to clinch fifth-place finish and qualify for UEFA Cup campaign next season.

"David Moyes has done a fantastic job at Everton and they are the only team that have broken into that top four in recent years,” said Keegan.

"Unfortunately in the following season they finished fairly low down the table because obviously you have more games and need a bigger squad.

"But with the resources David has got he's done a great job and it's up to us to catch them up.

"They (Everton) are a bit like ourselves in that they haven't got a big squad, but it proves that it (top four finish) can be done.

"This club (Newcastle) is the fifth biggest club in the country so there's no reason for me to believe we cannot finish fifth.

"That's our target next year and it's a very good target to set ourselves.”
