Newcastle Bolster Future Prospect But Rozehnal Leaves For Lazio
Newcastle United have sent defender David Rozehnal on loan at Lazio, and have signed teenage starlets, goalkeeper Oli Soderberg and striker Fabio Zamblera in the January transfer window.
Czech international Rozehnal had joined the Toon in the summer but was frustrated at playing out of position, of late. He will be with the Serie A side for the rest of the season and the move could be made permanent in the summer.
The Magpies have however bolstered their future prospects with the addition of 17-year-olds – Swedish U-17 international Soderberg and Italian U-18 Zamblera – with the pair signing four-and-a-half-year deals at St.James' Park.
Soderberg, who arrived at Tyneside from BK Haken, said on nufc.co.uk: "I am really looking forward to signing for Newcastle and the challenge that lies ahead.
"There are lots of great players at this club and I hope that I can learn from the likes of Shay Given."
Zamblera, who joined the Magpies from Atalanta, said on nufc.co.uk: "Newcastle is a very big club and it has a very impressive stadium.
"There are lots of very good strikers at this club and I know there are famous names such as Michael Owen and Mark Viduka.”
