Middlesbrough’s Gary O’Neill Goes Under The Knife For Knee Ligament Injury

The officials at Middlesbrough have confirmed the news that Gary O’Neill has damaged his knee ligaments.

The midfielder picked up the injury during the club’s draw against Tottenham and the recent scans confirmed that there is a damage to the lateral ligament.

O’Neill has already undergone surgery to fix the problem which means that he will no longer feature in the current campaign. However if he progresses as expected he should be fit by pre-season training.

"The surgeon is happy that everything went well," said Boro's head of medicine Grant Downie.

"It was a routine operation and he is expected to be available for pre-season training in the summer."
