Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate has stressed on the need to bring in players with the 'right mentality and ability' to the Riverside Stadium.
Middlesbrough do have young talent throughout their squad, but the Boro boss revealed that the search for some better players is on, in order to add experience to the current squad.
He told the Evening Gazette: "We are monitoring things, and are looking to improve all areas. Despite the good youngsters we have we are looking at home and abroad to see if we can find players even better than those we have here.
"But any players we sign must come here to play good football and not for an easy ride. We want players with the right mentality as well as the necessary ability."
