West Brom's Meite Could Feature Against Hammers - Clement On The Way Back

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Mowbray could have Ivory Coast International Abdoulaye Meite back in his squad ahead of this weekends clash against West Ham United at the Hawthorns on Saturday if things go well.

The 27-year old will be resuming full training soon after picking up a calf strain against former club Bolton Wanderers in their Premier League clash at the Reebok Stadium.

"Abou will hopefully take part in training on Thursday," first-team coach Peter Grant told Albion's official website.

"He's been working very hard physically but staying off his calf."

Baggies defender Neil Clement is also said to be improving fast after picking up a knee injury during last month's pre-season friendly against Real Mallorca.

"Clem is working very hard during his rehabilitation," added Grant.

"We have a great backroom staff who are looking after him and don't take any chances.

"People ask how long he'll be out for but that's a very difficult one to answer. If you put a date on it and he doesn't get back by then people will think he's late.

'It's one of those day-to-day things. We're not going to put a timescale on it. But he is progressing.

'I don't think Clem will need an operation. It's just one of those things we have to monitor.

"Sometimes, you try to let things heal by themselves and then you discover it's quicker to have a tidy-up operation. But, at the moment, he's rehabilitating with the fitness coach."
