Manchester United Captain Gary Neville Delighted To Be Back After Injury
Manchester United’s Gary Neville who finally made his return to the squad in the clubs win against AS Roma has claimed that he is all set to give his best and perform his part of the job for the Red Devils.
After spending almost a year on the sidelines due to injury, Neville was finally seen in action on the field on Wednesday and was greeted by thundering reception by the United fans gathered at Old Trafford when he entered the field in the 81st minute.
"Missing the end of last season was bad. I missed the Champions League quarters and semis, the Championship run-in and the FA Cup final so it's good to be back to help the team now," he told MUTV.
“People kept asking me when I was coming back and it was a bit embarrassing, I’d try and give them a date and then it wouldn’t materialise. But the fans have always supported me and gave me a good reception when I came on."
After the victory against Roma, Manchester United will now meet Barcelona in the semi-finals and Neville is hoping for an encounter that will be remembered for years to come.
"They're two unbelievable games to look forward to," he enthused. "Two clubs who play the game the right way. It'll be an unbelievable occasion to be a part of."
