Manchester City’s Sven-Goran Eriksson Monitoring Closely Inter Milan’s Adriano – City Also Linked With Benfica’s Gomes
With Valeri Bojinov out for at least five months with injury, Manchester City are linked with a £10million move for Inter Milan striker Adriano.
The Brazilian international has reportedly said no to a loan move and as such City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson will have to make a permanent move for the 25-year-old, who has been at the San Siro from 2004.
According to the Mirror, Eriksson, who has also been linked with Benfica's Nuno Gomes, is closely monitoring the situation of Adriano following the former Flamengo man’s ‘spectacular disciplinary fall-out’ with Inter coach Roberto Mancini and subsequent fall in the pecking order.
Adriano’s agent, Gilmar Rinaldo, said: “Adriano wants to remain at Inter or be transferred definitively.
"What happens next is up to the club. But while we know that with less than a week to go before the end of the window it will be very difficult to find a team we are calm."
