Manchester City Linked To Palermo’s Mark Bresciano After Juventus Rule Out Sale Of Giorgio Chiellini
Reports in Italy have suggested that Manchester City have identified their next target from Serie A with Palermo midfielder Mark Bresciano being linked with a move to Sven-Goran Eriksson’s side.
After taking the charge of City last month, Eriksson has signed eight players so far with two being brought in from the Italian League - Rolando Bianchi from Reggina and Valeri Bojinov from Fiorentina.
City have however suffered a setback in their bid to sign Giorgio Chiellini as Juventus have ruled out the sale of the attacking left-back.
But City are immediately said to be looking at the 27-year-old Australian international and the Rosanero coach Stefano Colantuono has said he won’t come in the way.
“His sale is almost certain, but I am not worried,” said Colantuono. “He is a good player, but I only want determined and motivated men who are eager to be part of this project.
“I would have fielded him down one of the flanks next season, but it’s not a problem and we will find an adequate replacement.”
