Man Utd's Giggs On Verge Of Breaking Bobby Charltons Record - On Bench In Champions League Final v Chelsea (FULL TEAMS)
Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs is hoping to break Bobby Charlton's record of the most appearances in a United shirt if he features in the Champions League Final against Chelsea tonight.
The 34-year-old Welshman has already equalled Sir Bobby's record of 758 appearances for Man Utd and will break this record if he features in the match tonight, where he has been named on the substitutes bench.
The Champions League Final in Moscow will be the first all-English final in the UEFA Champions League and European Cup history, with the two teams that fought for the English Premier League title also facing-off in this showpiece final.
Manchester United boss Sir Alex led his side to UEFA Champions League glory in 1999, and could win the trophy for a third time in 40 years after Sir Matt Busby's team lifted the European Cup in 1968.
It is also 50 years since the Munich air disaster virtually wiped-out the Manchester Unitedand United's manager said he was "proud to be following in the footsteps" of those who perished on that day while returning from a European Champion Clubs' Cup match.
Ferguson vowed that: "We will not let them down."
