Man United, Arsenal, Real & Valencia Tracking Brazilian Starlet?
Premier League Champions Manchester United and Real Madrid are set to lock horns over 17-year-old defensive midfielder Wellington Aparecido Martins, with both the Red Devils and Los Merengues reportedly tracking the Brazilian starlet.
The Brazilian youngster has made only a solitary senior appearance for his club side Sao Paulo, having come through the club’s youth system. In spite of his tender years and paltry appearances, European scouts have been impressed with Wellington, who is developing into a mature and assured player.
This is not the only English and Spanish interest in the player as both Arsenal and Valencia are also monitoring the development of Wellington. Sao Paulo will be keen to keep the youngster on their books and will hope the player will stay at the club for a few years at least before moving on. In likelihood the likes of Real, United, Los Che and the Gunners, will wait for the player to accumulate some senior appearances before deciding to make a move.
Wellington has only one major honour to his name and will be keen to add to his silverware collection, with Sao Paulo before seeking pastures new. Should any move materialise to England in future, the midfielder is likely to feel at home at Old Trafford or the Emirates with Man United, having twins Rafael and Fabio Da Silva, Anderson and Rodrigo Possebon at Old Trafford and Denilson plying his trade at the Emirates Stadium.
