Man United's Hargreaves Likely For Liverpool Comeback After Super Cup Blow
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping midfielder Owen Hargreaves is fit to make his first league appearance in the season when the Premiership champions travel to Liverpool on September 13.
The England international has suffered from injury troubles since his move to Old Trafford from Bayern Munich last summer limiting him to 23 league appearances last campaign.
The 27-year-old missed the pre-season due to his tendonitis problem in his knees, however, was expected to make a comeback tonight in Super Cup with Zenit St Petersburg in Monaco. But he had a recurrence of his problem and will continue his rehabilitation.
Hargreaves’ injury has also frustrated England boss Fabio Capello, who was hoping to name the central midfielder in his squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Croatia.
